As part of our mission - to ensure all children have the emotional support they need - we are proud to offer school-based counseling and mental health therapy.
Our Student Wellness Team works with teachers, administrators, parents / caregivers and children to develop individual, small group and whole classroom interventions. Referrals are accepted throughout the year from any individual concerned about a student's wellbeing and students are encouraged to self-refer when they feel like they to talk to someone.
Students are taught healthy social and emotional skills they need to thrive - in school, at home and in their communities. These skills are taught through in-class lessons, counseling groups, and one-on-one therapy.
Our Student Support Specialist uses the Second Step curriculum to provide age-appropriate lessons for students in grades K-8. These lessons encourage positive growth and help students develop valuable life skills that strengthen their overall wellbeing.
In addition to classroom lessons, our team uses evidence-based practices to help students navigate a variety of behavioral challenges, such as:
Ongoing Sadness or Depression
ADHD or Other Attention Challenges
Worry and Anxiety
Anger Management
Identifying and Communicating Feelings
Positive Friendship and Peer Relationship Skills
Developing Emotional Regulation Skills
Strengthening Self-Esteem
